HOW THE CHECK WORKS

This is a specification-based screening tool, not a simulation or a certification of an installed air system.

Data and scope

The catalog contains 20 air tools and 12 compressors with linked manufacturer pages or manuals. Model suffixes, market versions and measurement conditions are kept separate. Conflicting numbers are noted or withheld. A missing field stays unknown.

Average air demand

At-load CFM × tools × trigger seconds ÷ 60

This is a repeating one-minute schedule. An unspecified average or free-speed consumption is not used as at-load demand. A compressor delivery point must match the confirmed tool pressure; this version does not invent a pressure-flow curve.

Duty and application limits

The ratio of average demand to rated delivery is a simple air-balance estimate, not measured motor cycling. Manufacturer duty definitions, duration limits and cooling breaks remain separate. A tool-category restriction overrides favorable arithmetic.

Optional stored-air buffer

Seconds = (gallons ÷ 7.48051948) × pressure drop ÷ 14.7 ÷ total at-load CFM × 60

The example assumes pump off, constant temperature and sea-level atmosphere. It does not establish actual tool runtime, time between motor cycles, recovery time or storage retention.

What a result means

Each check reports a documented limit, a preliminary pass, a review item or missing data. A pass does not certify the complete system. Pressure losses, regulator capacity, water or oil contamination, electrical installation and fittings are not simulated.

Editorial policy

No hands-on review, measured performance test, customer rating or live retailer price is claimed. Source dates describe when documents were reviewed, not when the product was tested. Technical source corrections should be made in the catalog and rebuilt across affected pages.
